BUFFALO:  These animals are EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, especially during the rut season, and will attack without any provocation.  They have the ability to move very quickly and are very short tempered.  Each year, people are killed or injured in the Custer State Park from getting too close.  If you are riding in areas that have buffalo, be VERY alert to your surroundings and have a plan of escape ready in case you are charged.  They are allowed to roam freely in Custer State Park camping areas such as Legion Lake and have been known to be right outside tents when you wake up in the morning.
