We ride the Parkway. Speed Limit is 45mph, if you do 10 or 20 over it makes things very entertaining. There are many "Urban Assault Vehicles" (RVs) so passing is frequent. However, if you are unable to pass you could always enjoy the scenery. Forget about cell phone use on the BRP. There are many locations for camping, just take your pick.

It's getting colder as we approach Mt. Mitchell. Crabtree Meadows camping was nice, quite and still, but the next night at Doughton Park had a forecast for snow. Although we never got any we did get 34 degree temps with strong winds. We decide to set up camp early. It paid off. We had just enough time for dinner and two trips for fire wood.
